This is a 1968 Cline Wheel truck bought by Santa Fe to replace wheel cars used to do on-line repairs of cars that were set out along the mainline. It was donated by Burlington Northern Santa Fe and served out its career on the railroad in Needles, California as that station's sole wheel truck until the early 1990's. The truck was rebuilt in the early 80's, re-engined to diesel and repainted into its present colors having sported the older SF blue work equipment colors. It has the usual swing boom crane found on modern wheel trucks but also has a stiff leg boom crane that is capable of raising one end of a locomotive.
